This course is designed for those who have done little or no sailing and teaches you the fundamentals of Sailing.

Inshore Skipper Theory...........$180.00

Competent Crew - 4 x 3 hour practical lessons, including a club race, 1 night sail, course notes & logbook.
This course is designed to improve your sailing skills and follows on from
our Set Sail Course. Together with your completed theory, this course is an excellent qualification for those wishing to go onto their own boat or bare boat charter.

Getting to know the yacht Ropework - knowledge and properties of ropes in common use. Able to use and apply correctly, such as rolling hitch, reef knot, bowline, single & double sheet bend, eye splice, common whipping, sail-makers whipping
Weather & Wind
Right of Way, Navigation lights & Code Flags Yacht Stability - including dynamics, proper stowage of items, security and safety of passengers and crew International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea
Ropework, Winches, Block & Tackle
Tides & Waves Towing - passing towing ropes, securing towing ropes, suitable knots, taking the strain, towing alongside and astern
Lights & Buoyage
